Pink and Rust

Normally, I love pink. Pink, when paired with rust is not normal. Not now, and not in 1957, when this house was built. My friends, while scrambling for something nice to say about this bathroom, use the term "vintage." Vintage just means old, it doesn't mean "attractive" or "in good taste." There's plenty of bad vintage out there, and my house is a sterling example of that. I wonder about the woman who picked these things out quite often. I think it's significant that she and her husband divorced before ever moving into the house. The acts of passive-agressiveness played out in the choice of tile appear to have worked. Fortunately for me, the shower pan under the vintage ceramic tile shower broke several eons ago, apparently unbeknownst to the previous owner. The floor and support beam underneath is teaming with rot, mold and mildew - vintage unknown - so all must be torn out and replaced. The tile guy said he didn't think he could match the pink and rust tile. Fabulous news.
